Peltier's practice centers on prolonged study, even obsession. Initially a printmaker, she employs process-based and iterative modes of creating. Many of her works repeat the same basic concept– a puddle of water, a light source that peeks through the trees, a bodily way of relating to the world, a cosmic and terrestrial entanglement— altering and rearranging form, color, and technique in open-ended exploration. She utilizes her personal archive as primary source material, pulling photographs from her lived experience as starting points for representation and abstraction. Creating is a way of sitting with these places, memories, and feelings. Through making, she engages with a sense of quietness and questioning as a means of resistance. This repetition and study is an act of devotion.
